The Art of Transforming Communities is an opportunity to bring together Graduate students in the fields of art education, studio arts, design, performing arts, art history, cultural studies, humanities, creative art therapies, education & technology, and other fields of knowledge whose scholarly research is intrinsically linked to issues related to processes of making and collaborating.


The transformative power of art; grounding research in community; building healthy communities through creative expression; social engagement through art education; ecological justice and artmaking; challenges with collaborations and community-building; art as a tool for dialogue; transformation through resistance or protest; new media and issues of accessibility; international collaboration; diversity and inclusion …

Workshop with Lily Yeh will take place at 3:00pm – Open to All

Lily Yeh has worked on internationally significant community based art projects that are oriented to bringing the transformative power of art to the most impoverished communities in the world through participatory and multifaceted  projects that foster community empowerment, improve the physical environment, promote economic development, and preserve and support indigenous art and culture.
